It is impossible to have sex with another man in the same way as with a woman, because of anatomy, duh.

i think you're being a tad too literal there

;)

And in the case of a sex change, well the sex changee is a woman, now, so no abomination

dang... i gotta think about this one (Otter's answer is classic)

let's see ... what is a "woman?"

someone with xx chromosomes

guys have xy chromosomes

does the sex change replace the y chromosomes with x chromosomes?

if it doesn't, i don't think you have a "woman," though i guess it's close enough for almost any purpose you can think of

Not always! Either nature evolved or god created intersexed humans.

I can't believe I'm entering this part of the frey. Any how, the bible is pretty explicit about homosexuals -

Levidicus 18:22
'Do not have sex with a man as you would with a woman. It is an abomination.'

Soooo, taking this to mean I can sex with a man in a way other than with a woman and it's ok?

Warthaug:
Leviticus 20:13
'If a man has sex with a man in same way as with a woman, they have committed an abomination. They are certainly to be put to death.'

God didn't say that, man did. Don't confuse man's law with God's law

Warthaug:
Leviticus 20:13
'Their blood is on their own heads.'

See last

Warthaug:
There's also a lot of stuff in their about slavery, genocide, and so forth. It's funny how the biblical literalists pick and choose the literal parts - even Jesus said we can have slaves, but no one seems to want to sell their kids to me ;)

Bryan

I see that you can't see the difference between the Bible's history and it's teaching.

Sorry if this has been said, but I can't read through this entire thread. I believe whole heartedly in Evolution, but I never understood why religion and evolution have to be at odds on this. Isn't it entirely possible that "God" (in whatever form you believe God to be) does have a plan and that evolution is just one of his tools?

nod, nod... i meant the two "polar opposites" to the sex equation, male and female

there are bound to be specimens that are born somewhat of a mix, quite neither, somehow both

for now, let's assume a man born with xy chromosomes gets a sex change operation

does that operation change his chromosomes to xx?

i don't think it does

whoa!

so are you saying that the Old Testament is not really God's word, but man's word?

because as far as i know, Jewish law *IS* God's law, handed down to the Jews by God.

and God DID say those things.

unless, of course, you are admitting that God had nothing to do with it and it was all made up by men

I agree that it normally would not, but I would expect it could if one wanted to try the appropriate organ transplants. I suspect the human species will do anything it really wants to do. The limits are only in our imagination. Maybe man is creating man.:coffee:
