No it isn't. Don't pre-judge an ism. Have you ever STUDIED the bible? Not just read the words, but studied the meanings? Obviously not.

Many religions, including Christianity, also encourage homophobia and distain of other "faiths" (ok, the second thing I don't know about in Christianity, but homophobia is true). Why should we worship God? If he's mad at people who don't, it's his own fault for giving us free will when he could have done ANYTHING else he wanted.

Really? Are you sure about that? I've never read a commandment "thou shall hate homosexuals." I think you must be listening to the wrong people. People who claim the Bible says what they want it to say.

I don't what Bible you have been reading, but mine doesn't say God is mad at those who don't follow. God loves everyone. God wants us to follow him, but will not force it. Would you be happier with a spouse who stayed with you out of fear, or out of love? Same concept.

The christians behaved civil and turned the other cheek (not saying which cheek) as opposed to stoning the heathen evolution atheists, and we are all one big happpy dive forum again.

First of all, I think we need to realize that while there are many religions/denominations that supposedly use the Bible, they use it in different ways and to different degrees, so we need to be careful of thinking that the actions of any reliogious group is an accurate reflection of what the Bible says.

I point that out because there are religious (Christian?) groups who's attitudes on homosexuality may be far from Biblical.

What exactly is homophobia? Is it being afraid of homosexuals, hating them or just thinking that they are wrong? It seems to me that it's sort of a new word that I never heard until recent years. It's useage usually seems designed as way to insult those who think homosexuality is wrong. Maybe we need a new word...homophobaphobia to describe those who hate homophobes?

The Bible does teach that homosexuality is a sin. However, the Bible also teaches that we are all sinners and in need of Gods grace.

I can't believe I'm entering this part of the frey. Any how, the bible is pretty explicit about homosexuals -

Levidicus 18:22
'Do not have sex with a man as you would with a woman. It is an abomination.'

Leviticus 20:13
'If a man has sex with a man in same way as with a woman, they have committed an abomination. They are certainly to be put to death.'

Leviticus 20:13
'Their blood is on their own heads.'

There's also a lot of stuff in their about slavery, genocide, and so forth. It's funny how the biblical literalists pick and choose the literal parts - even Jesus said we can have slaves, but no one seems to want to sell their kids to me
