Partially, I believe so. But again, all conclusions are based on observing and quantifying the known, sometimes based solely on experience, and my "theory" or hypothesis does envelope the unknown; that which can't be proven until it has transpired. In a way, much like God is for many. Some see and observe the connections we have one with another (intersting how thought transcend time and space), and believe that in that state of being makes them god, since they see no unknown beyond the moment or themselves God must not exist. As with most of my posts, i'm conjecturing that perhaps, there something in the unknown that does truely govern and influence what weve come to call the known, even ourselves, and that something is God himself.

So, we agree that you do not have a theory.

One of the local charter captains (and a friend of mine) had quite an experience with a seal on the Empress of Ireland and captured it all on video. The huge male seal was following him in and out of the wreck, chewing on his fins, and generally exhibiting really playful behavior. He kept playing until he noticed the gigantic teeth and then started realizing that this was a wild animal and could really put a world of hurt on him!

We used to have a charter than ran seal dives off of NH that were a blast, but alas he went out of business. My one dive with him was very fun, though. Got to see a bunch of seals close up.

Sounds like it was a great trip! I'd love to have been there. I'd be more afraid that playfullness could turn ugly at any given moment, without any warning signs. Not necessarily by the animal doing the playing, but by perhaps another male or female of the group.

That same trip, they had a pod of Belugas keep them company on deco.

All I got to see was an intact 600 ft long shipwreck....whoa is me!

For me, the perfect trip would be to see a something like a Ceolocanth, or other very rare, thought to be extinct species. Even so, for me, all things in nature, even those not so rare, are wonderous. Until ... they bite!!!

To be fair, not all Christians are creationists and not all atheists are evolutionists.

That must be why gravity was downgraded from law to theory. If it remained law it would present an obstacle to the theory of evolution. After all, gravity could fail (thus falsifying the theory) just as marble statues could wave their hands thus validating the theory.

The "law of gravity" is a colloquialism. Gravity is and always has been a theory. Newton's theory of gravity was actually shown to be only an approximation to General Relativity. Its very likely that GR is only an approximation to some other more correct theory as well given the issues surrounding black holes that GR does not satisfactorily explain. I (and most other scientists) find it highly likely that GR will make incorrect predictions that will not agree with experiment with sufficiently warped space-time or with sufficiently small regions of space-time. It is thus a theory.

And it is very difficult to argue with creationists when they don't know what they're talking about... If after 3,000 posts you still don't understand what a scientific theory is, then there's really not much use to discussing anything beyond that...
