Hi,
I heard great things about Cozumel but couldn't find any livaaboards in that area. Is there an outfit somene here can recommend?

I am a single diver and as such dont' want to stay on land....just treat me like a tea bag in and out of the water :-)

Not aware of a liveaboard in Cozumel. But I don't know everything even if I pretend I do ;-(

Several in Belize and one in the Bay Islands

Nope, no Liveaboards in Cozumel for several reasons. The biggest one is drift diving! All dives in Coz are drift, some taking the divers several miles from their entry point. The small dive boats follow the divers (water so clear they can see them on the bottom) and pick them up as they surface. It wouldn't work well for a liveaboard, unless divers used a skiff and taken back and forth to mothership. Another reason is that there is no anchoring in Cozumel - because it is all drift diving.
Also, most reefs are 5-30 minute boat ride from hotel piers, so it really wouldn't be cost effective to have a liveaboard there.

Belize has 3 liveaboards - Nekton, Aggressor, and Peter Hughes. If you want similar diving, from a liveaboard, but no drift.... check them out:

:D

The closest thing to a liveaboard in Cozumel would be Scuba Club. If you really want a liveaboard, you'll need to look else where.

Thanks for the detailed info.
