Our family is going to Cozumel next week for a week long stay. :dazzler1: We were wondering if anyone has any recommendations for places to eat. Any help is grateful.
Thanks!!!

There are so many great places to eat you couldn't hit them in all in a week .
Just a few We like in no particular order Prima,La Choza,Casa Denis,Rock N Java(breakfast) and for ice cream the mall behind Chedrauli on the 2nd floor I think it's called the Gelateria .Hey even the McDonalds has a beautiful view of the ocean, how can you go wrong :D

I can second the motion for La Choza. We have eaten there seveal times and always liked it. We liked to eat at some of the smaller places along the main road up the coast too. Found some good chips and ixnapec salsa (spelling could be very wrong - it's pronounced ish' na pek), fish tacos, etc. It's fun to experiment... :eyebrow:

There's a great little place a few blocks of the main square - la mission, I think...wonderful food and excellent prices.

I was totally underwhelmed with Casa Denis tho they have some of the best HOT salsa we tried.

Some that haven't been mentioned yet
Guido's
Especias
Mesa 17
El Moro
Coco's
Santiago Grill
French Quarter
El Foco
Pancho's backyard
La Mission on 30th (not the house or the one right up near the waterfront)
Las Palmas
Arracharras

La Choza is a more Mayan than Mexican. Instead of salsa they serve a garlic sauce with their chips. I love the stuff and always bring back a bottle. That being said, they've always disappointed me on seafood. Get the chicken mole when you go, oh and the margaritas pack a punch.

My all time favorite is Casa Denis. Get the Snapper Dennis and watch the traffic go by from a porch table...

My Trip Report

If you're interested, my trip report lists my faves and a few newer ones we tried... It lists our impressions (good & bad) of them as well. Most have been named by others earlier in this thread.

La Pearlita and Especias were my two favorites. My wife and I thought that both were fantastic meals.

Last August,we went to the La Mission on 30th. I had filet of grouper grilled, baked potato, steamed veggies, black beans and guacomole. Price = 60 pesos. My wife had the Mexican platter, enchiladas, tacos, chile relleno, beans and rice and a bunch of other stuff. Way too much to eat. Price = 70 pesos. At 11 pesos to the dollars that is CHEAP! And the food was GOOD. I highly recommend the place. And for desert, try the chocolate ice cream. It is exceptional.

My favorite breakfast spot, El-Sitio by one of the main taxi stands. Their Pulpo (octopus) tacos are the best! Just watch out for the salsa, lest you have fire shooting out of places you don't want. ;)
