My camera is the Canon s500 Digital Elph. The housing for that model (and it is also for the s400 and s410) is the WP-DC800 and I got mine at www.walmart.com for about 180.00 --- I also have seen it for a few bucks less at www.samsclub.com

Hope this helps.

Isn't the Palace the same building as the old Plaza Las Glorias? If so, it sure doesnt' look anywhere near ready. I would pick another place if I were you - because even if they manage to get it done, they won't have worked out all the kinks.

By the way, I notice under your name you mentioned teh Canon powershot & housing. DO you like it? I jsut bought a powershot but need to find a housing - where did you get yours? How much was it?

Just to tell you, We were booked for the Palace in April (over the easter week) .
Now we were told the Palace wont open until june at the earliest, so they offered to move us to the adventure spa palace on the mainland, or another palace resort of our choice for this time period. I would'nt trust ANY booking at cozumel palace Until I here from someone who stayed there and assures me its realy open. On the palace web site (palaceresorts.com) even they dont give an opening date, they say their still assesing the damage. The june opening date I got was through Funjet Vacations, who booked my trip.

Steve, the previous posts are from January 2005 and refer to the initial opening of the Cozumel Palace. Your information is still correct for the post-Wilma re-opening.

What did you decide to do? I hope they also offered to refund any money paid so that you can choose to stay in Cozumel at a non-Palace (open) resort. Diving from the mainland is just not the same...
