No need to taxi & lots of great ops to pick from & as far as I know no restrictions as to who picks up divers at your pier. Many will look after your gear after each days diving & have it set up ready to go when they pick you up the next day.

I stayed at Secrets last December and have dove with Jeremy several times. Any questions about either Ill do what I can to help you out.

I have stayed at Secrets and Sabor and many other hotels in my 30 years of diving Cozumel. I have used Dive with Martin the last few years but as mentioned there are quite a few good ones who will pick you up at that pier.

OK - well, regardless of who owns the boat I guess, they pick you up at the pier of the hotel? I mean, if I'm staying south of downtown, then I do not need to take a taxi to downtown, to the harbor, get on the boat and trip south past my hotel on a boat. Rather, I load my gear out to the pier, the boat pulls up, and I continue south on the boat. Yes? Or, in some cases you still have to taxi it into town?
In a word, yes, though you might not be diving some of the more northerly sites because the boat captain and DM might not want to backtrack.

I dont think a Cozumel newb needs to worry about the northern sites.

I'm not talking about San Juan and Barracuda; reefs like Paradise, Tormentos, and Yucab may be too far north for a dive op to want to go back south to drop off someone after a dive if the rest of the divers aboard are staying in or near town.

That's true or it may just limit where they will want to do the second dive.

But since the majority of the first dives are pretty far south south, that pretty much means all the dives. I have heard that some folks get picked up at a southern resort, do a southern deep dive, a central second dive, and then cab it from the Caleta back south to their resort. That's an alternative.

Original message says it's a 4 day trip so I think there are enough reefs in the southern section to more than fill his schedule.
