I'm sure most dive ops start smiling when they see "The Chairman" coming :) But who wouldn't??? I kind of enjoy being around him myself!

But the fact is, you don't have to be the chairman to be treated well by any dive op. I am certainly nobody important, but I am treated with respect by every op I dive with. That's because I form a relationship with every op I dive with and if they don't know me before I get there, they will know me before I leave. And if they do a great job, they know they have earned my loyalty and that I will return...with groups in tow.

Often, how you treat others will determine the level of service you get. If not, move on until you find the op that suits the way you want to be treated.

Reasonable requests are almost always honored with a smile. Unreasonable demands are usually met with resentment. How do you know the difference? Ask here.

Back to something @DandyDon mentioned about ScubaBoard trips. The bigger your group, the more you can request. We don't like cattle boats and we make arrangements to not have them. We even had a couple complain to support@ScubaBoard.com that we wouldn't let them come on the boat when there were seats available. Sry, but we paid to have the boat to ourselves so you'll have to find another op. We call them Invasions, because we kind of take over. Traveling in a group of a hundred or more really increases your safety too. No one's going to mess with a group our size and our clout to let the world know how we are being treated. @CajunDiva leads groups like that too. People like her and @cardzard take the guesswork out of booking with an op, allow you to make great friendships and are a wonderful resource, especially if you're out of country. Can't wait for Curacao in January and Fiji next Spring.

Fact. ScubaBoard has always been my go-to for the real story about dive resources all over the world. Pete has done an incredible job providing divers with access to all the dive related information they could ever want.

The key is to do your homework, find what you want, and when you do, stick with them and be a loyal repeat customer. That's how you get the best treatment. It's called RELATIONSHIP.

Then you come to ScubaBoard and let the rest of us know where and why :)

I’m paying about $32.00 a Dive including Nitrox, so $10.00 per tank with da wife seems reasonable to me...I have been known to take the starving DM out for dinner on occasions too:wink:.

Last trip we fed 9 of them for under $50 from Mr Taco.....lol

Moved this here from a thread on tipping, since my question is more germane to this thread.

$32/tank including Nitrox seems awfully cheap, even if that's the per tank rate for a full week of diving. What operator is this?
