Good Afternoon,
My husband and I are heading back to Cozumel for our 5th trip. We are looking for suggestions for a small dive operation that leaves right when the harbor opens. We are staying at Sunscape Sabor.

Thanks

How about a dive operator that is so good you will wonder why his operation is so small. Jeremy at Living Underwater will give you the kind of dive vacation that you deserve. Jeremy and his crew will pamper you and your gear throughout your trip. His boat is fast, smooth, and comfortable. He will pick you up at your hotel and your gear will be taken care of through the whole trip. You will don and doff your gear for diving but the rest of the time you won't have to worry about it. Jeremy is a FLAWLESS divemaster who will make certain that you get the kind of dive operation that will make you return to him. I would bet that 90% of the people you meet on his boat will be repeat customers.

I PROMISE, you will find Jeremy and Living Underwater everything you want a dive operation to be. His operation is small by HIS choice. Jeremy insists on being on every dive. Because of this, his operation will never be large. But it IS the very best that Cozumel has to offer.

I use Dive Paradise almost exclusively. Lots of good ops down there though.

Living Underwater is one of the earliest ones & dive with Martin is also a bit on the early side of the clock. I believe both pick up at Hotel Cozumel around 7:30 AM.

Do you mean daily or after a closure of some kind? I don't believe that the harbor closes at night.

Aldora leaves the Caletta harbor so they can pick me up at 7:30 am. We are usually one of the first boats, if not the first boat to hit the Park if we are going that way.

Scuba Tony leaves Marina Fonatur at 7:30 on fast six pack boats. Love getting out to the dive sites so early!

When we stayed there in June: The dock outside Sunscape is packed at 8am with larger boats. We'd sit and casually eat breakfast watching the show - the valet service we dove with picked us up at 8:30-8:45 with no crowds, but big smiles. We probably weren't the first in the water but we rarely ever ran across other dive groups - there's way too much reef for that.

I was there the whole month of August and seen a bunch more. You can get on anyone's boat at 7:30 whether it be the marina or downtown but 80% or even more of the diving is south of the Sunscape dock, the boat is gonna go right past there anyways, so why hustle down there just to drive right back by?

Pick your favorite flavor of valet, mine's Blue Project, there's others highly recommended by folks on here - relax, enjoy a casual morning, don't rush, you're not missing anything.

Aldora and Blue Project are two ops I have had excellent experiences with. There are plenty to choose from. You will, however, need to navigate the on-again off-again "dock-fee" Sabor is charging ops these days. Some ops are no longer picking up at Sabor due to the manner in which Sabor forces ops to pay the daily fee to pick up customers.

One good question you can ask an op as you do your research is whether or not they guarantee that there will be a nitrox analyzer on every boat so you can personally analyze your tanks. Even if you aren't diving nitrox, it's a good quality control question.
