Chartering you own boat with 5 divers is definately the way to go. Thats what we did when we cruised Carnival and docked at the International pier. We dove with Dive With Martin the first time because they were an easy walk from the International pier. It was a great choice!!

Was this cruise quite awhile ago? Although Carnival occasionally docks at the International pier, the most common pier now is Puerta Maya.

You'd need to get a taxi to the marina or the International pier, but it's super easy to do. They are lined up and waiting.

(It's also not that hard to get off the ship early in Cozumel since there are no tenders- just join the crowd and get in line early; don't wait for the announcement, people are often already leaving the ship by the time they say anything. You may get slowed down if another ship is docking though; they don't allow disembarkation during that time. I know when my husband was diving he lined up to get off ASAP and the non-divers were almost 90 minutes behind him, as we chose to wait for the announcement to leave, but then they delayed us as we had to wait for another ship to dock.

Be warned... a dive in Cozumel is absolutely addictive.

Agree. One cruise there lead to multiple weeks of vacation and choosing all our cruises based on if they have a Cozumel stop!

It was 4 years ago.. and the last cruise we took. It looks like I was wrong. We docked at Puerta Maya and walked to the International pier where DWM is located. It took less than 10 minutes once we cleared the dock. Since then, we fly so we can spend several days diving. either way, it was an easy walk to DWM, even being the Sherpa hauling 4 sets of gear.

sorry for the misinformation...

Good to hear it is an easy walk between the two piers. I wouldn't have thought that to be the case!

If you mean the two piers that are near the Cieba/El Cid location, it's an easy walk. If you mean between one of those and the Punta Langosta pier, not so much.

We were discussing Puerta Maya (carnivals typical pier) and the International pier (DWMs location)
