Hi Everyone, I am just about to book a last minute trip to Coz over the 4th holiday, Sat thru Wed. Like I started looking a few minutes ago and will book by tomorrow.

I've been to Fiesta American before, but that is a $300+ upcharge for a solo traveller. Anyone have opinions, positive or negative on the following places:

Suites Colonial
Suites Bahia
Villablanca Garden Beach Hotel
Days Inn Villas Iguanas
Vista Del Mar Boutique Hotel
Hacienda San Miguel +$100
Coral Princess Hotel and Resort +$150
Casa Mexicana Cozumel +$210

Thanks

What's an "upcharge"?

I was in Coz in may and stayed at the Hotel Pepita. I really can't say enough good things about the place. It is the perfect diver's hotel and great for singles. It is 30 dollars per night and has an extremely friendly staff. The rooms are basic but clean:cable TV, AC, and ceiling fan. I'm suprised more people don't talk about this place. It is around the corner from La Choza: about 2 blocks to the Aldora pier. Most boats will pick you up there. It is an excellent location in my opinion. I am looking forward to staying there again on my next trip.

capt_cu2,

Don't forget Caribe Blu! www.cozumel-hotels.net/la-reina/index.htm

My wife and I stayed at Suites Bahia a couple of weeks ago. Very basic, but clean and comfortable. Only a block or so from the Aqua Safari pier. We paid $49/night.

We have always stayed at Vista del Mar and have always had a great experience. Nothing extravagant, just a cozy place to stay and a fine little cafe below, next to Aqua safari.

We have stayed there before and I agree nice for the price. The old man that owned it died but his family still runs it.
