Sorry if this was discussed already but what if a guy received a vaccination before he went to Cozumel, would the CDC or airline ect... still require a new test?

The only allowances listed are for people that have had COVID previously.

Yes. From the CDC website referenced earlier:

"What if I have had a COVID-19 vaccine? Do I still need a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19?
Yes, all air passengers traveling to the US, regardless of vaccination status, are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery."

When Statista/Pfizer is calling something short of 100% 'full immunity', who am I to disagree? Remember, I'm not a scientist!

If you vaccinate 100 people, 5 will still get sick, so the vaccination is only 95% effective. The 95 people where the vaccination works will have "full immunity", the jury is still out if it will be what is called "sterile immunity" which means that you cannot spread the virus.

Just a small nit; out of the 100, 5 will contract the disease, but some portion of them will be asymptomatic, i.e., not sick.

Agreed

On the topic of mutations, so far BioNTech reports that vaccine will be effective for those strains as well. They are also monitoring the mutations to be able to adapt on short notice if a new mutation messes with their current vaccine. One of the nice things of mRNA is that it can be adapted very fast.

Is that the test Canada is asking for? I thought it was the other one that's like 2500 pesos?

No Canada requires a negative PCR test - taken within 72 hours of re-entry into Canada

those can't be the only places on the island, right? my local friend is saying she has a place for $30 for the PCR test.
