I thinking about taking a vacation to the USVI with my family. I will probably dive a little, but have young kids and this will be more of a family vacation.

So have a couple of questions for you USVI travelers:

1. What is the vibe on St. John?
2. How is the diving and health of the reef?
3. Is there any good snorkeling, if so, where?
4. Other activities for kids (8 and 10 yrs old)?
5. Any recommendations on a hotel or area to stay?

Thanks,
PH

I stayed at the Cinnamon Bay campground with a non-diver buddy for a few days and had a blast! (We are 2 50-ish women) The campground is on a beautiful white sand beach with great snorkeling around the little island in the bay. There is also an onsite restaurant and kayak rentals. We stayed in the little cabins which had a kitchen, table and 4 beds inside and a picnic table and BBQ outside. Now if we had had the money we would have stayed at Caneel Bay but.......we camped:blinking: I found the vibe there to be laid back. We rented a dinghy one day and explored the island that way, I highly recommend this; you can operate an outboard motor right? Your kids would love it. There is also hiking, which we never got around to. I didn't dive there as we were headed to Tortola next, just waited and did the RHone from there. Hope this helps.
