Yesterday a lil sloppy at Hen and Chickens
Water temp 73
Viz sucked at 10/15 feet
Fish life meh
Today at pleasure reef a whole different experience
Flat to gentle roll
Water temp 76
Viz 60/75 feet
Fish life was amazing
This is the reef where one of the ops feed 2x a week
Over a dozen green morays and nurse sharks
That being said a bit frisky today and had to push them away with the camera dome a few times!
Massive schools of fish
Filefish mating rituals which was really cool
Hopefully post some pix a bit later
Nice manatee at the dock drinking from a broken water valve

The last few years there have been plenty here in the upper keys

Great capture and focus on the blenny! What camera and lens?

What depth was the 76 degree temp at?

Thank you for sharing as always.

@deeper thoughts Nice shots!

I'm headed back to KL in June after the good experience I had last year. Any particular reefs to try to hit? I always hear molasses but didn't have the chance last time.
Molasses is always a hit but do ask for conch wall(drift) one of the best

So sounds like conch wall is a go with the shop I'm booked with, any particular things to look for on that dive?

They however don't do molasses generally it sounds like due to it being more crowded typically. What does molasses have over other reefs that it gets mentioned so much? As ex, I really enjoyed snapper ledge, crocker and davis last time. Are you missing out if you don't hit molasses?

Thanks!

Yes you are missing out. Huge reef system dependable reef sharks
I have dove Davis hundreds of times but Molasses has much more diversity
Molasses has 26 or more reef balls so crowding is really never a big issue
Conch wall is a drift in the 55-95 foot range
