My husband and I are heading to Cozumel next weekend for about 4 or5th trip. One week at Melia - one at Fiesta with Daytona Beach (FL) SCUBA club. We have been diving nearly 30 years together and still enjoy MX. We've certainly seen lots of changes all across the Caribbean from Seven Mile Beach in Caymans actually being just seven miles of untouched beach to Isla Mujeres being deserted except for a turtle & shark petting area! No cruise ships in Cozumel, Tortola or Caymans - oh well...the diving is still great.

Hi Debbie and welcome to SB.com! :)

Your hubby is also welcome to his own membership here, you know.

I know how you feel about the developments. I like going where the Cruise boats don't. Cozumel is about the only exception I make on that.

Hope you will post a report in the Coz forum on your return. PM me if I can help you learn to navigate the board here.

have fun, don :cowboy2:

You don't have room for one more, do you. (hint, hint)

Thanks to all for the welcomes. I did try to upload a picture from last year in Cozumel, but I was told I had too many pixels. I have certainly been told a lot of things in my life, but that was a first!
Doing a little research for any new restaurants, places to go, etc., any input great appreciated. When we are at Melia, it is IC, but cheap enough not to worry about eating out a few times. 2nd week at Fiesta - so all meals will be off site.
The dive club uses Tony Castillo so we will be diving with him again this year. We did try Tony on our own last year and were pleased and he serves a great lunch.
We always enjoy going to the town center on Sunday night (I think) to listen to the local music, watch the dancing and graze our way through the home cooked goodies.
