El Orans:
I'm just here to raise my post count! ;)
Back from Bonaire and the diving was good. Although , my trip taught me a lot of lessons. First Bonaire is not easy or cheap to fly to. Air Jamaica... changed flight schedule day of flight. No more direct flight LAX to Mo`Bay. Almost miss connection.Airports to hotel Bonaire 20 hrs. Bonaire is beautiful, great vis, warm water...BUT the reefs are very repetitive, really not a lot of fish life, and every night dive I signed up for was cancelled. Bonaire is expensive. I live in California ( which is expensive ) I KNOW this was my last trip to Bonaire. 20 hrs flight I can be anywhere in the world. Fiji,Australia,PNG, Hawaii,Thailand,Phillipines. I guess I`ve grown up diving wise. I loved Bonaire when I got my AOW.2003...200 dives later...I`d have to put it #3 in the Carribean behind 1) Caymans 2) Cozumel 3) Bonaire.Like Honduras...Bonaire is a great place to learn. The people in Bonaire are great , no break-ins (auto)Gas is so expensive $60 to fill up Toyota Hilux 12 Gallons (??? 60 miles from Venezuela ) Still it didn`t suck. 85 degrees in Feb

has anyone found any good deals on air to bonaire yet. price of fuel going up this summer and probably air fares. talked to Jack Chalk at captain D. he said if you use a island hopper from aruba or cur, better book early.

i found this: CON out of houston to ARU for 508.42 pp/w tax. (depart) HOU 1:30 pm, arr 7:12pm, connect on bonex to bonaire. the return flight from ARU departs 9:35 am, arr 1:10pm. the only problem would be the connect from ARU to BON. i think bonex,s last flight out is 8:00. any delays means a night in ARU.

Hmm that's an interesting idea too. Thanks. I've never been to Aruba, and would love to go. Maybe a forced overnight would be a good idea. :)

Natasha, bon-exc has a habit of changing flght times so short layovers either way might cause a problem unless you don't have to be anywhere (like a job lol.)
