Believe it or not these worked BEFORE rebuilding them. I bough these and a 1st stage at a yard sale for $20.00. Before buying them I hooked them up to a spare tank I had and they seemed to work fine, bought them with the intent to rebuild but was happy to see them work at the sale. When I tore them apart I about flipped out...LOL..anyhow they have new parts inside and going to test them tomorrow. I put them on another another 1st stage I rebuilt a couple of weeks ago, I cant wait to see the inside of the 1st that came with these.

Well, on the other hand, if they were working at all with all that stuff in them, they must be pretty robust regs!

There was hardly any corrosion on any of the metal parts...must have been a fresh water dive that left all that junk in there...they actually cleaned up nicely.

The past owner didn't secure the octo to the BC and let it drag on the bottom which is why it is full of muck. Also the old owner did not seem to believe in rinsing also. Looking at the interiors there is nothing I can see that would prevent them from working but they should work much better now.

Looks like surface muck, it shows the reg was not properly cared for but odds are it's nothing a good rinsing would not cure. Corrosion is the biggest problem with regs and while this one looks bad, I don't see any signs of corrosion. My guess is the interals of the first stage will be OK.
