Hey Matt,
Alot of who you go with might depend with where you are going to be staying. I was in Playa Grande and had to walk to get to Tamarindo( about a 40min) and finished my certifaction with Agua Rica last March. I believe they are the only dive shop in town there. There was another company who had a satelite office there, but I will have to look up their name if you are interested.
The visability was quite limited at times due to the winds off the shore and the themalclines but it was GREAT once it shifted ,Lots of life, Mantas, Eagle rays, Morays, Jacks, even saw whales from the boat. There was some current to be careful of as well as a surge. I am hoping to go back this summer, maybe south to Drake Bay.
