Cost of dive gear in the Philippines?

I am just wondering what the cost of dive gear is in the Philippines, say compared to the US

In my experience, prices are about the same in the US and the Philippines if purchasing new gear at a LDS or dive shop. However, some online scuba retailers in the US have a substantial discount, and that is where I usually find the best price.

Hello, I am from the Philippines and recently brought my dive gear here in Cebu, Philippines. I found out that retail prices in Local Dive Stores here are around 35% - 40% more expensive compared to prices I found in the Internet. However if you have a friend who is an instructor and is willing to extend the discount he gets from the LDS to you, you can avail of a discount of 40% off the selling price.

That was how I got my gear. Otherwise it would be better to purchase it in the US. The downside to this is that the receipt they issue you and the warranty will be in the name of the instructor.
