Hello:

Just wondering if there are any deals for Red sea liveaboards in Egypt. I was planning a trip to the Caribbean but was told to check out liveaboard prices in Egypt as a lot of companies may be offering deals. Please let me know if anyone has any info.

Hello Captain,

I get regular e-mails from Blue O Two, a well-regarded Red Sea liveaboard operation with multiple boats (I did a "Deep South" Egyptian itinerary in mid-2010).

Their booking operation is UK based...but it looks like they now provide US$ prices if it senses you are in the US. THey do have some deals < $1,500 for a week long liveaboard...which given the quality is a pretty good deal. I would think with a little flight shopping you could make this happen at a price comparable to an Aggressor Caribbean liveaboard....and the diving will IMHO be better.

I had a great experience on board the Blue Melody and BO2 gets consistently high marks from UK divers, their biggest client base (I lived in the UK when I took that trip in 2010).

Hope this helps.

There's plenty of good deals around at the moment for Red Sea boats. They're struggling to fill spaces due to the unrest, but I've been assured by my Red Sea colleagues that it hasn't affected the diving areas. Have a look here for some discounted boats.
