Anyone dived the Caribbean side of Costa Rica ?? If yes, was it worth it? Any input will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Ken

My house mate is a native of Costa Rica. She (and others I've talked with) say the Caribbean coast is not ideal for diving, but I'll be danged if I can remember why. Her brother operates a dive center in the Guanacaste area on the Pacific coast.

Thanks Dr. Bill, If you glean any more info, let me know !! Many Thanks, Ken

I have dived in Puerto Viejo on the Carribean coast. It was teh wet season when I dived there. Lots of swell. Terrible visibility, but great for surfing.

It's very close to the Panama border, and for diving I would recommend, instead going to Bocas del Toro. There is some stuff to look at, but writing this now from the red sea, i have to say it doesn't much compare.
