I have offers for the Steigenberger Coraya Bay for a week in May, but Coraya Bay Divers (the only dive centre there) is apparently the largest dive centre in Africa, made for 400 divers daily. Sounds like a nightmare...

As I am not so much into shore diving and I had pleasant dives with Emperor Divers a few years ago (when they were still in Concorde Moreen Beach), I am considering to use their dive centre in Port Ghalib.
Can you recommend a hotel there? The Palace?

Cheers,
Liberty

I have been diving with Coraya Divers quite a few times and never thought they had 400 divers on a day !
yes they can be busy but then they also have lots on offer; walk to the pontoon and dive the bay; take the RIB from the pontoon to the edge and dive back; take the speed boat to outside the bay,
their day boat leaves from Port Ghalib and you will need to know where to go as the most popular sites can be fully booked ( write your name on dive board 2 days before ) stay at the Lamaya or Samaya or Solaya even the Dar El Madina in second row all good,
it’s a bit of a pain to walk from the Steigenberger to the dive center/pontoon, just in case google - Madinat Coraya Map -

Ramadan starts on May 15 - June 15, I have also noticed the price drop in May not sure if this has any influence.
