While hunting for old bottles today I found what appears to be a solid copper peg, pictured below (the quarter is for scale). There are two holes through it, one small and one large. I have my own ideas about what this might be but I'd like to hear others. What do you think it is? How old?

Just taking a wild guess - it looks like it could be used as a net mending fid...

No idea on the age.

It looks like a clevis pin to me.

my wild guess is a Line wrap Don't really know the name of it but found on older sailing vessels?
Used to secure line or sheets on the older sailing vessels? Does anyone know what I am thinking it is called?
See you topside! John
