I was on the fence looking at the Canon G-10 and the Nikon P-6000. Didn't like the Canon housing so the next best thing (not the best) is an Ikelite housing and this puts it on par with the Nikon P-6000, cost wise. Found some deals on a refurb Ikellite housing for the P-6000 so that's what I got.

I want to use the camera with my Sea&Sea YS-110 strobe. Pursuant to that end I got an Ikelite synch cable(#4118.1). This isn't TTL, but it's supposed to trigger the strobe. I cannot find anyway to slave the camera strobe to make the hotshoe work independently of the camera strobe. The manual is of no help.

It's looking like my option is triggering the strobe with a fiber optic. Do any of you P-6000 users have a solution?

I'd call Ikelite. Their cust. service and tech. advice are excellent.

Also try wetpixel.com. Another excellent source of UW photo info. In addition to SB of course.

I've got a P5100 with Ike housing and strobes. The TTL works great-hardwired. I'm not that familiar with the YS-110 strobes.

I have a P5000, so I don't how much this will help, but I think the menu system will be similar.

In any of the shooting modes, if you go into the menu -> flash control there should be 2 options, "auto" and "built-in off". By selecting "Built in off" and then forcing it to flash always (back to the shooting mode, push the 4-way controller up and selecting the lighting bolt) I think it will trigger the flash through hotshoe.

Great. You're welcome. Now enjoy it and don't forget to share some pics form it ;)
