Hey,

I have an ikelite dual sync cable but I only want to run one strobe. Has anyone successfully sealed off the second (or third really) plug on their dual sync cable? I'm thinking of just filling the dust cap with epoxy sealant and threading it on.

Or is this a higher power telling me to buy a second strobe?

If you are willing to do this irreversibly, i think that simply epoxying (with a good waterproof epoxy such as Hysol that has been used for implanted medical devices) the actual end of the cable and filling a cap with epoxy and adding it to the mix.

gargar: I'd guess that eventually you'll want a second strobe. Most photogs use two, but starting with one is certainly fine. In fact Martin Edge suggests that approach in his The Underwater Photographer, considered by many to be a bible for UW photography.

BTW if you want to swap a double for a single, I'll be glad to do so. I have an extra single laying around somewhere. PM me.
