Whenever I book a flight I continue to watch airfare in case it goes down, so I've been tracking August fares ever since I booked a $450 round-trip flight from Newark to Curacao.

It creeped up from $450 to $550 right after I booked, then to $750, and today it's at $1,450! (And there's still plenty of seats, so not like they're looking at high demand.) Won't be much helping that whole "Curacao Now" deal, now will it!

:-)

Airfares are on a huge roller coaster. I booked Bonaire for October about a month ago - $550 plus fees. Then checked the same week fliying a couple of weeks ago. Was up to $1400+. Then checked the same October week last week - back to $600 or so! What's up with all that?

Constantly check fares - they can vary widely and frequently it seems.

All that goes up, must come down. If that goes for airline tickets as well is not known, but I just checked Newark - Curacao roundtrip on august 8/15. It gave a price of $ 587.70 . tax included.

P.S. why is everyone taking a roundtrip in stead of one way? Just stay here and keep on diving for ever.

If direct deposit kept coming from our employer we might just do that, but I don't think that's gonna happen!;):D

Because most of us would have no ability to pay for housing, transportation, utilities, food or for that matter, the diving.

Now, if you are offering free lodging and food, I could probably find a way to pay for the diving myself, and maybe we should talk??

;)

What dates were you planning on going? I was told that the last flight Continental had into Curacao was Aug 29th 2008. (atleaast from NY/NJ)
