Another question: I don't know if this breaches professional decorum, but I've often found myself wanting to contact underwater photographers to ask questions about specific images, usually ones I've seen in books or magazines. I have also been curious to see outtakes from shoots or other images not usually available. Is this bad manners? I have noticed that it seems kind of difficult to find contact info for some of them.
cheers

A lot, if not most, pro photographers have websites. It's not bad manners at all to email or contact them. I guess if they don't respond, you'll have their answer! :D

And don't forget about the most excellent photographers we have here on Scubaboard. Marriard, ChrisM, Gilligan, and ssra30 are just a few I can think of who have websites with thei photos. They are more than happy to answer your questions....and accept your praise!
