Hey,

I'm going to Cuba (Cayo Coco) later this month and have been reading some good reviews on the Coco Dive Center in Cuba that operates out of the Tryp hotel resort. Can anybody give me an e-mail address or phone number for these guys? I have tried Google but no luck. Everything seems to come up with Blue Dive center.

Thanks!

Hey TorontoDive,

I see the date of your last message and want to know if you got to dive in Cuba and if you have any recommendations.

I am going at the end of Feb.

Hi. This is another person (yap, similar name, another Toronto diver).

In the summer of 2004, we stayed at Beaches Veradero. The resort was good. I got to dive two days there and it was so so. There wasn't a lot of fish or coral growth. Visibility was 40-50', also so so.

Then there were high winds and no diving for a few days. But I got to take a bus to south Cuba. Shore diving at the Bay of Pigs was quite good. A few minutes from shore we can to a wall drop. Not a lot of fish but the coral growth at the wall was very good and colorful. We also got to dive at a ship wreck.

One thing they do is to have one DM taking decent pictures and they bring to your hotel to sell to you that night.

i was hoping to hear a more positive response. . . but we will still look around.

We are heading to Veradero, so i guess if we want to dive, we will have to travel a bit.

Thanx,
