I am also looking at purchasing it, but maybe just with the compass. I'm debating as to whether or not $100 extra is worth the cost of the knife and a quick disconnect.

The QD would be really nice. I'm going to get one on my next computer (Cobra), so that I can pack the regs, very carefully, and just carry on the computer.
I suggest that you go ahead and buy for what you plan to do in the future. If you plan to do a lot of diving or nitrox, go ahead and get an air-integrated computer that supports nitrox. You will end up saving a lot of dough.

My wife and I both have Atmos2 consoles. They've been reliable, easy to set for gas, and easily understandable while underwater. Actually the easy-to-understand part was a big selling point.
The quick disconnect was an item I was really uncertain about; it has been great, however. On live-aboards, or on shore for that matter, it's easy to disconnect the console and carry it to a couch for logging the day's dives. When pressurized, I can't disconnect it, even if I try hard.
The algorithm provides more NDL time than the Suuntos. For us, the profiles generated have been very safe.
Dislikes: the ascent rate alarm will go off at the drop of a hat, and the alarm is really faint.
I would buy these computers again for recreational diving.

I know you said that you changed you mind, but here are my comments anyway (in case anyone else is interested)
I have an Aeris Atmos II also, and I like it. It does have the coolest console out there. In fact, I like the console so much that I converted my Oceanic Versa Pro to the Aeris console. Both have the compass and knife and QD. The knife is cool without being Rambo. I like having all gauges facing me so that I don't have to turn it over to see anything.
I second James' comments. A major selling feature for me was the large easy to read display.
I like the freedom that the QD gives me. I can switch to my spare computer without using a wrench, and I can loan my spare to my buddy if his dies. In Cozumel I can sit in the hotel lobby (the center of action and activity!) with my log book and computer while my buddy snores away up in the room.
The only thing to be careful of is that you need to remember to remove the knife if you transport your computer(s) in your carry on bag. (made that stupid mistake once!)

Thanks everyone. I decided to go with the Atmos II. Haven't got a chance to try it out yet, but I'm looking forward to breaking it in on a dive or two here in Ohio before I head to the Keys in September. I couldn't bring myself to spend well over $100 more to get an ai computer after coughing up enough for a Zeagle bc.
