Hey All you Floridians,

I'm considering a move to warmer climes, but, I need some input and I'm sure you'll all have something to offer, so here's your chance.

First, I will need an apartment with a 600.00 or so per month rent, so that gives you the kind of expense I can currently afford and should give you an idea of where I can live.

Second, I will need to live someplace with a decent chance of finding a reasonable job. I'm not planning on going back into Telecom Management, so no need to concern myself with that.

Third, diving of course. Shore diving will be important as my ability to pay for boat dives will be very doubtful until I find decent employment, at least. Cave country is not on my list of places to go, I'm more interested in wrecks.

Oh, I have a dog and cat too.

Ok, so, fire away.

Your limiting yourself to SE Florida here.. you'll need to up your rent allowance by $400 a month minimum.

Just for a 1 bedroom apt, nothing fancy, just safe?

Seems like everyone is moving here these days :shakeshead:

You can find those around, or of course get a roommate. I currently pay $575 per month plus bills between two of us sharing a two bed, in a very nice area as well! Previously in Orlando i paid $650+ for a 1 bed apt, there were cheaper, but they werent in desirable (read safe after dark) neighbourhoods. Not sure on rental prices elsewhere.

What skills do you have, what kind of thing are you looking for? There are major areas of light industry in many cities, but each place has their specialist services it seems.

This would have been first on my list  Shore diving as Colin states is pretty much SE coast with a small chance on the SW coast, otherwise its driving or the dreaded caves.
