I want to offer a congratulations to all you divers who are looking to improve your health and in turn making your sport safer and more fun for you!!!!!
I am returning to the sport after MANY years away.......but to be honest I was just floored at all the overweight and really out of shape divers there are. These are wonderful people with tons of experience and training,,,,but wow sure wish they would see the benefits of staying in good shape and living a heathier lifestyle. The sad thing is so many are in their 30s and 40s....then also in their 50s.....if things ever got tough for them on a dive, the results could be not so good as a result of their poor conditioning. I am by NO MEANS a superman but I have good basic health practices and a good lifestyle in planning that if something ever did happen I would at least be in condition to deal with it. Lets encourge our fellow divers to drop a few pounds,,,get some basic exercise and start living a better healther lifestyle.

Agreed! Everything seems to be easier if you're not overweight. It's an on-going battle for some of us, but at least we're going to war..and planning on winning!

Agreed as well, I have not been as successful in the last two weeks re: weight loss, but I do know that, as of now, I am swimming 400 yds. over 30 seconds faster than my timed swim during DM class two years ago. SO I know my fitness has improved.
