did a kayak dive yesterday. Viz was just 8-10ft and some surge. The bloom has arrived on the Monterey side :(

On the plus side paddling arround the harbor afterwards had a pair of otters grooming and came up to the bow of the yak. 1 of them was looking like it was going to hop on board but didn't :) Had my daughter on board (it's a tandem yak) for that and it made her day

BTW- I want to encourage divers to post conditions reports following their dives to give folks who are planning to go an idea of the vis at different spots. both scuba board and this site: Monterey Dive Reports :: View Reports are great places to do so. Thanks!

Thanks for the update, I'll be down on Wednesday, not yet sure which dive site... but I'll post conditions when I get back!

We were at McAbee as well on Sunday, not surprisingly had very similar conditions. Interestingly, there were 4 or 5 dive boats all anchored up in the area, so conditions must have been pretty spotty outside the bay. We ascended in front of the Aquarium and the Silver Prince motored over to make sure we could get back to shore. They didn't seem to believe us when we said we were all good. We finished our dive and ascended in front of El Torito, again in front of the SP. They must have thought we were loonies!

Yeah Silver Prince was anchored at the site when I arrived as well. Bless their anchor chain! it proved very helpful navigating my way back. Funny I didn't see a single other diver from the SP while down there despite seeing several dropping into the water shortly before me
