my regs "sweat" like crazy once we get out of the house...i am assuming that since the outside gets coated in condensation that the inside does as well? and this can have negative effects over time, correct?

If you dried them well before storage and sealed them properly, it should not be an internal problem.

Agreed, the condensation is coming from the surrounding air. If the air that is inside your reg is still tank air which is dry and there is no reason it for it not to be, then there is nowhere for the condensation to come from. You regs dust cap does a reasonable job of sealing the reg. Even if you do get a little condensation in the reg, it is pure water- no salt - so it will do no damage to the internal parts of the reg and it will dry as soon as you take a couple of breaths off the reg.
