Computers with non-conservative algorithm.

This blanket statement is not correct. The VEO 2.0 is an on / off for conservatism - you can not adjust conservatism in a wide range. If you buy a computer make sure you know what you are getting - that said I own an Oceanic and I like it.

But it is available for both algorithms, isn't it?

Run either algorithm - yes. However a Shearwater and other "high tech / high priced" computers allow you to alter the conservatism - not all Oceanic allow this - in fact I believe very few do - you are only allowed to go up 1 in the conservative factor. You implied the factor could be adjusted - it can not - it is on or off. You chose the algorithm and are allowed to turn on or off conservatism by a factor of one (as if you were diving at the next higher altitude).

Just wanted to get the facts out for anyone that is reading this thread that may not know how this all works - do your due diligence before you buy your computer...

How much more conservatism you need? You have a "liberal" algorithm that you can set it to be more conservative (I think 10 - 15% more but not sure exactly), a more conservative algorithm that you can set also to be more conservative, essentially 4 levels of conservatism.

If you need more adjustments, you need to spend more money for a higher grade computer.

Note: Suunto computers have 6 levels of conservatism (conservatism factor and altitude adjustment in addition to running 50% RGBM).

"false statement" is going too far, 4 levels of conservatism adjustment is wide enough to me. It is all relative.

Again is inaccurate - read false - it is one level of conservatism. There are two algorithms - you should read up on them. And there is ONE conservatism. Please stop saying there are more - that is not how it works and you will be confusing anyone that reads your tripe...

i think what he's trying to say is you have 4 levels of conservatism based on 2 algorithms, each with 2 levels of conservatism. Misleading imho as the 4 levels implies 0 +1 +2 +3 like there are on some computers

it is TWO levels each (0 or 1) for TWO algorithms (one of which is itself more conservative than the other). Thus, the computer has 4 options for the amount of conservatism you want. That seems like a pretty wide range to me, too.
