Greetings. First time poster in this section of the board. I find that my vision has decreased to the point that I really need a dive computer with a VERY large display - preferably lighted. I don't need anything fancy - I dive air and nitrox just need something that will help keep me safe. I have always used a Suunto computer but it just isn't working for my new vision levels. Any current suggestions? TIA

Have you looked at the Suunto Eon Core? It has a large, bright colour display. Shearwater Peregrine has a fairly big colour screen but the characters are smaller. Mares Quad, Sirius and Genius also come to mind.

Mares Genius has a large display and remaining air (with AI) is graphically displayed

Shearwater Perdix/Peregrine screens are very bright and offer layout customization/colors options etc. to make them very legible in low light.

My eyes are not as sharp as they used to be but I never have trouble reading my Perdix in any conditions.

You may want to check out a vision correcting mask-- you can get 'em with a single or double bifocal lense in whatever your prescription might be. I resisted this for quite a while but eventually found my arms weren't long enough to move a wrist-mounted computer away to where I could easily read it. Got a mask with a single 2.0 lense and it was a total game changer. Wish I'd done it earlier.

If you are like me and my 70 year old eyes.... and are ok with an air integrated / hosed console...... then the Oceanic Pro Plus 3 or 4 has absolutely HUGE numbers, user changeable battery and nitrox compatible. Mine also has the QD option which I really like.

I have a shearwater peregrine and it is very easy to see and just as easy to see underwater as in a dive shop. You can change the brightness, but I leave mine on auto. You can set haptic alarms (vibration alerts) for depth, time and low no deco limit. I use the time alarm. You won't miss a vibration alert when they go off.

I do not have an air integrated peregrine, but my guess is with an air integrated you may be able to set a haptic alarm for air pressure.
