A lab mouse? well, given the volume of the pot, I don't know if there's enough breathable air in it to last 15 minutes. Asphyxia would probably get it before DCS. Besides, I've always had a soft spot for rodents.

I thought destruction, explosion, and mayhem were always the goal of these experiments. If the results are not explosion, implosion, fire, and/or small mushroom clouds the experiment wasn't a bust!?

Might be what I had so much trouble with my science instructors, I suppose. I might have misunderstood their whole concept of science.

PS egg on PADI Deep speciality is an awesome trick.

Take it down to 30m (careful entry), crack it and peel off the shell, the yolk and white will stay together as a small ball , then push it away and watch it be devoured by the fish!

OK, I gotta say, cool thread. But the most awesome part is the concept of using a cheap and simple filter housing as a pressure pot gets you many kool guy points. I love the idea, esp with the clear housing.

Ok, that's why DIY is fun - but I gotta add the caveat that you should use something rated for the correct pressure, wear safety equipment etc. I've had 2 previous pots that weren't correctly assembled go *pop*. Another thing is when I test lights, I usually use the pot almost full of water. That way it takes only a minimal amount of air to pressurize it. That way, in case of a leak, or rapid decompression, it'll just go pop, and not *boom*. Sometime, all I need is to pressurize my reg, switch it off, then connect the inflator to the QD. It pressurizes up to the equivalent of 30 meters with just that small amount of air.

Also I think n=1 is never a good sample size, so I think you should recruit some more people to bring melons along Steve.

I would hope n would =>2 at least... single melons always weird me out.
