Well, thanks to all for replies.
Unfortunately due to the labor cost to do the retrofit, this will become cost-prohibitive. For a couple of hundred more i would be able to get something like poseidon with a first stage. So for now i am gonna stick with what i have. Maybe for the next season i will get a new reg that is compatible with 3/8 hoses out of the box.
