My hubby and I just took our Advanced class.
He had a console mounted compass and I a wrist mounted.

The short story is that he is now digging out his wrist mount again to use his compass.

He tried to use the console mount for Advanced class and repeatingly was off his navigation because he tended to tilt the console down to see it on the console mount. Even while I swam next to him and would indicate that he needed to correct for the error, he still stilted.

He then tried my wrist mount and the "classic" arm-hold and was dead-on.

So for anyone contemplating their compass mount, I reccommend the wrist. Just my 2 cents -- Starfish
