Hi
We have Compair 5407 ser622
I want a new 4 stage piston & liner
Parts manual shows old type & new type units.
Old pattern is C200979 New pattern is C201356
Our type is i think the old type 2 piston rings & piston is mounted to first stage piston with a spring cir clip.
Ouestion is is the new type a straight replacement or some other things have also to be changed ?
Also is the oil pressure still 850 psi on the new type ?

The new style piston and sleeve are not compatible with the old style jug, and the you can't interchange the jug. It's Gardiner Denver's way of forcing you to buy a new machine. I just rebuilt 2 5406 EH and they were more in parts than it would have been to buy a new pump and throw it in the old frame.

Why not put new rings on the old piston? Is the bore scratched? Oil pressure could be anywhere from 100 to 1100, depending on serial number. You want to be using the universal manual for that old pump. I'll send it if you need it. Electronically. I'm hoarding my last paper copy.
