How do you guys stow / store / manage your camera's underwater? My favourite travel camera for diving is my Lumix in an underwater case. Does better photo's and video than the gopro, but the case is a little bulky and has limited mount points. When I used to dive in a jacket I could just put it in a pocket or tie it to my wrist, but neither of them are an option obviously.

I've tried just putting a bolt-snap on it and clipping it off to a chest D-Ring, but the problems with that are that it gets in the way, and I've ended up somehow scratching the lens part of the case (lucky it was fixable). I've also got underwater video where you can hear the bolt-snap tapping against the case.
So i'm looking for a solution that gets around that.

I've thought about getting a bit of flat bar, mounting the camera on one end and putting the boltsnap on the other end, but figure that someone would have come up with an elegant solution for point and click cameras.

(gah! can someone fix my title please :-( )

Maybe you can tie on a robust split-ring to the housing and use a double ender? A little neoprene sleeve with a drawstring might help protect it when you get in/out of the boat. You could probably have one made pretty cheaply. If it can fit in a jacket BC pocket, can it fit in a thigh pocket or a rightside harness pocket?

My go pro goes in my pocket when I'm not using it, and I'm always careful to keep the lens against the pocket so it doesn't scratch. Although the neoprene sleeve is a great idea (thanks!) and I just realized that one of those collapsible neoprene drink koozies (sp?) would work great. Maybe can try that this weekend!

To be clear - I just tie a thin bungie through the mount in the gopro case, and then use a double-ender to connect that bungie to the bungie in my pocket.

Thanks, I think the double-ender with bungee loop might work well. The bungee loop could double as a lanyard and I could easily clip off during the dive if I need my hands, and secured to the pocket loop at other times. Kinda obvious now..
