Been working on the side for a few years now doing Commercial dive jobs although we do jobs all year round winter seems to be the busiest 4 us. We probably average 30+ snowmobile retrevals a winter . The individual I work for is the only one in our area which is a huge area that is legaly able to do these jobs (all licencing certifications insurance etc and have a working relationship with the police) . We do have an hourly rate schedule but generaly flat rate these type of jobs at 1500.00 . Just curious what others doing this type of work charge as I have no one around to compare pricing with.

Not realy concerned with breakdowns ie primary diver gets % standby % shore/ropes%
we just do an even 3 way split and each kicks back 100 bucks to the company for operating costs as we are all qualified to do each job and rotate positions .

Sounds like a fair price to me. If that is what you are asking. If some Dumb ***** turns his snowmobile into a submarine he should pay to get it back.

So would you be diving anyway and this is a bonus for dive gear? Sounds like a great way to get some new toys. could sell the owner a few pics of his sled on the bottom of the lake????

I may have to raise my prices. I start my prices at $800 for a snowmobile retrival. Depending on the conditions, the price may increase. This isn't for raising the snowmobile, it is only for setting in the hook. Of course our state and counties charge out the wazoo if a snowmobile is left submerged. Fines can range from $200 a day.

$1500 sounds pretty fair. Most commercial outfits I know and have worked for charge that for straight forward OW stuff. Once overheard is involved the price goes way, way up.
