Coming to Waikiki next weekend, anything going on?

I'm surprising my wife for her birthday and taking her on a return trip to Waikiki next week to get some sun. We're leaving on Thursday (1/20) and will be returning to California on Monday.

I don't know if we'll be diving or not. I'm hoping we will. I'd like to dive the Mahi again to see how much she's changed since we last dove on her about 7-8 years ago I think.

However, I was wondering if anything special is going on topside the weekend of 1/22-23? I've never been to Hawaii during the Winter. Isn't the Winter when they get the big waves on the North Shore?

Yes, big waves. They said on the news this morning about 6', but we did have up to 20' + a coupld of weeks ago.
The whales are here now, that is always fun.
