I just checked weather.com for the conditions on Maui next week and it shows rain the entire time Ill be there! What gives? I assume that this will kill the vis? Either way, cant wait for the vacation.

on another note, we are supposed to do many shore dives from Wednesday to Saturday. A friend of mine told me to visit red sand beach, what are your thoughts?

looks like we'll be having nice weather next week....you might want to change plans ...j/k

It never rains in Hawaii, we just tell people that to keep em away.
Im quite sure on some part of the island it will in fact rain every day. But it is clear rain so you can still dive.....It sould be very nice but rain is always a chance. The good news is the weather morons are never right.ENjy your visit!
Aloha

Dont worry, we are visiting you the following week! I plan on being shriveled like a prune by the end of our dive vacation!

Thanks for the words of encouragement!

lol...I'll try to keep the sunshine around for ya

Maui Dreams has a dive weather page that they try to keep up to date with the South Maui conditions: http://mauidreamsdiveco.com/dive/weather/

A lot of the weather depends on *where* you're staying on the island. Check out http://www.hawaiiweathertoday.com/maui.php but make sure to click on the part of the island where you are staying to get your forecast... different parts of the island can differ greatly!

On the plus side, both South and West Maui seem to be showing relatively good forecasts for next week!

Red Sand Beach is over near Hana, and according to Malinowski's Snorkel Maui and Lana'i is "popular with snorkelers and nudists."

Red Hill, on the other hand, refers to a cinder cone in South Maui near Little Beach (another nudist spot... what is it with nudists and red sand???) and Big Beach. This area doesn't seem to be recommended by Malinowski, and I haven't heard of any diving happening here, except perhaps to find some turtles.
