I know we always discuss the bp/w or back inflate or jacket style BCs on this board, but does anyone here ever go retro and dive a collar/front inflate bc with a plastic backplate?

Just wondering.

Tried one a few dives and I will never try it again...very uncomfortable..

I agree, they're uncomfortable. I used one for quite a while but I had a drysuit and used the suit for buoyancy control. If you put much air in them then they float up and get in the way.

The Dutch word for them translates into "toilet seat". :)

They are called horse collars and they work quite well. I do prefer my vest.
Hated mine back in the day, if you have big boobs (I'm guessing you don't ) they're miserably uncomfotable.

I have one and a "new" double hose reg to go with it that I can't wait to try out, wish the &^#$ quarry would hurry up and warm up. I don't intend to dive it on any serious dives but just for fun at the local quarry, should get some stares from the new OW classes.
