My LDS recently brought in some Titan Glacias and they are supposed to be great. even better, they are about the same price as a blizzard. They are even diaphragm firsts stages which will outperform the blizzard at depth.
If you are looking for a long term sheap deal. Y ou will not make a mistake by going with a blizzard as they are some of the cheapest to service. Aqualung on the other hand...

I ice dive all over Quebec and eastern Ontario and I love my Legend LX Supreme. I've been told AquaLung bought Apeks and used the Apeks ATX200 and upgraded it, which is...voila the Legend LX Supreme. Good luck.

Sherwood regs are bulletproof, and do have a good cold-water reputation. But I wouldn't take them any deeper than 70 or 80 feet - they're a recreational regulator only. Then again, that might be find for the kind of diving you want to do.

Bulletproof? Oh no not again!

Yes, aqualung does own Apeks, and the people that own Aqualung (some french company) own several others, and I wouldn't be surprised if they used the ever so successful 200 to make their own.
the only reason I would get an LX is the parts cost vs. apeks (free)...

I have the Scubapro S600 2nd Stage and MK25AF (Anti-Freeze) 1st Stage. I have had no problems, free-flows etc and have dived in 3 degrees celcius freshwater..... A lot of the divers in my club use Apeks though and they are highly regarded for cold water diving so I'm sure either will do the trick.

I bought them from www.diveinn.com which is based in Spain, the set I have are currently on at about 430 USD and the Apeks ATX200 are about 480 USD.
the difference between 3c and 0 c can be amazing, the few degrees can make all the world of difference in whether they freeze or not...

I found out the hard way if it is very cold in air, don;t breath a SP second they freeze pretty quickly..

I was diving Lake George NY about 2 or 3 years ago it was -25f (-32c) on the surface(the water felt quite warm compared to the air).. The SP froze solid after a few test breaths(before I even got in the water-normally I wount test breathe a reg in Ice conditions(for this reason) but I wanted to see how the SP performed).. I switched to a poseidon and it was fine..
