Diving on the east coast I encounter alot of cold water. Of course I dive with a dry suit but my hands still get really cold. This sucks because there have been a few dives where I have lost bottem time just because I couldn't feel my fingers anymore. My lobster claws I have are ok but not really useful if I am going to be digging around in the muck. My question then is if anyone out there has a good suggestion for a really warm pair of five fingered gloves. Also would it be wise to just get a pair of dry gloves, a few people have shyed me away from them saying that they real durable. Please send some suggestions as I hate my cold hands! :eyebrow:

drygloves. I'd never go back to wetgloves in cold water.

My only concern with the dry gloves would be getting them ripped from my digging and other labors. Do you see this being a problem or not?

you could try a small digging tool. I don't remember where I saw them but they're sort of clam shell shaped.
Might be an option.

Im "ok" in my 5mm semi dry gloves, provided i do the velcro up really tight water ingress is pretty minimal on them. I still get cold hands but not painfully cold.

Forced to stick with those as i was unable to find a single manufacturer stocking latex seal dry gloves in the country when i looked last month!

There are different levels of gloves available, as well as kevlar outer gloves for really tough stull. A number of us use concrete finisher gloves that go for $2 a pair, give or take. I also have some heavier Glovers that cost $30/pair. You can also patch the gloves very easily using a patch cut from kitchen gloves and a little aquaseal.

The dexterity and warmth are well worth a little extra care while diving.

Don't know what you have to do to import stuff, but Seattle Marine (www.seamar.com) has about any kind of glove you can imagine. We buy by the dozen for our drygloves.

What model glove do you use? I have the 2 ring system, and pull the latex glove over the outer ring.

Don't have the full model number handy, but they're BOSS #173 series, unlined. They work with either the system you have or the SiTech. I have both systems.

If you need the exact model, PM me and I'll hunt it up.
