CCV sponsors an intern program each summer at the resort.

It is a joint program between the University of Alabama Marine Sciences Department and CCV. it was started about 3 years ago.

Julia Stevens was CCV's first intern. She studied the Lion Fish as her special project.

Doc Radawski, resident Naturalist, Scholar and noted authority on Discovery Channel's Crystal Skulls, was her mentor at the resort.

Julia has just won a scholarship from the AAUS Foundation.

It's nice to see that CCV has an impact and can offer opportunity like that.

Here is from the AAUS Web Site:

The AAUS Foundation is pleased to annouce the 2012 Kathy Johnston and
Kevin Gurr Scholarship winners.
