me and my boyfriend would like to go for a liveaboard trip this year, early spring. we don't really know which of the above two to choose. please, if anyone has gone to either the socorro islands (mexico) os the cocos island (costa rica) give me some info on that. e.g. when is it a good time to go? which of the two do you prefer?

thanks,

saci

Can't speak to Socorro but the following are some links to a slideshow, gallery and trip report from our trip to Cocos in September. For Cocos you better get on booking a trip. We thought about going back and Seahunter told us they were booked for 08. I'm sure people cancel and openings become available. Also they are projecting a El Nino for the region (both) and I have heard this sometimes drive the hammerheads much deeper.

Both are great probably can't go wrong with either.

I have just been to Cocos but not Sorrocco. I have a trip report posted in the Central America section and also an older report in here somewhere. Please feel free to PM me for more information.

The best time to go to the Socorros would be Nov or Dec due to water temps. It is warmest then! My suggestion would be Nautilus Explorer, for that trip. Nautilus Explorer Scuba Diving Liveaboard and destination adventures - First class all the way on this boat!
For Galapagos visit Explorer Ventures: Adventures in Live-Aboard Diving and click on the galapagos link. They have a beautiful boat. I can check dates available on Wednesday for you since I wholesale these boat.
Jealous is all I can say....great trips!
dianedarcy@hotmail.com Affordable Trips And Tours is my website...you can click on liveaboards
there also.
