i known. Cocos, socorros and galapagos are some of the best places for sarks. I'm searching for advice .

i'm thinking about going to the MALDIVES.
hows the dive compared with cocos, socorros or galapagos ?
Which live aboard? When to go?
which land base hotel ?

Or any other sugestions ? Bahamas, papua new guinea?

My interest is big animals (sharks, mantas, etc) , maybe some colorful reefs.

thanks

Or any other sugestions ?

I'm not recommending anything; just mentioning some regional options that may or may not appeal. For big animals with an emphasis on sharks.

Live-aboard trips to Tiger Beach in the Bahamas for encounters with tiger sharks & lemon sharks might fill the bill.

The Jupiter, Florida region has sharks; from what I'm told spring is a good time to go. There are shark feeding dives (e.g.: Emerald Dive Charters) to help make it more likely you'll get close to 'shark action.' My one Jupiter trip was later in the year to see the goliath grouper aggregation.

The wreck diving out of North Carolina (e.g.: from various cities, like Hattaras, Morehead & Wilmington) is famous for sand tiger sharks around the wrecks.

You're in Mexico, so I assume you already know about the boat trips to Guadalupe to cage dive with great whites.

Richard.

Thanks Richard,

Bahamas and Guadalupe are on my bucket list,

Maldives liveaboard trips costs are half the price if you compare with Cocos or Galapagos but the flights cost twice.
So my question after some research about Maldives is this :
when?
where ? north of maldives? south ? close to Male?

If anyone can help me with that information
thanks

You like Sharks and have your wife's Visa card, so if you're all ready to make the circuitous lengthy flight to Maldives, why not fly direct to South Africa and see the real-deal sharky-Sharks?
