Nice place but I would never recommend it to anyone. Personal reference but I have not had any great experience there. I think "Awesome" is a bit over stating the cool factor.
$$$$ is a better description

Agree, I didn't think AK was all that great either; good spot for a surface interval though. The west side ops dive most of the same sites anyway.

Hi Everyone,

I was trying to find information about the Mayan Princess Resort. I previously stayed in AKR back in 2010, and I did love it, but it is a bit expensive compared to other resorts. My husband, and I just came back from Fiji, and wow that was spectacular, and I must say we are spoiled now. I wanted to find out if anyone knows about their dive center. The condos seem to look amazing, but I am not sure if their dive shop has a place to store the gear etc. We always travel with our own equipment so a locker to store the gear is very important to us.

Please help.

Thanks,

Flights are booked, just need to figure out where to stay. I go with my father and he usually only dives twice a day. The only drawback to CCV is that we are stuck there. It appears that Mayan Princess has a beach (which we like to relax on when not diving) and we can go to other places to eat.

Will the diving be the same at both resorts? Any suggestions?

thanks

J
